Vicki Archer had been part of the BBC Radio Shropshire team for more than 20 years.
Friends, colleagues and fans across the UK were shocked yesterday to hear she had passed away suddenly.
The charity Shropshire RCC Tweeted: “We’re shocked and saddened to hear that Vicki Archer has passed away. Our thoughts are with her family, friends and colleagues at @BBCShropshire.”
Her family said that the “extremely talented broadcaster” was “much loved.
Their statement continued: “We are still coming to terms with her tragic loss so would ask that people respect our privacy and leave us alone to grieve as a family.”
Meanwhile her employer said she was a “great presenter and journalist”.
The cause of her death is currently unknown.

Who was Vicki Archer?
Vicki was a radio presenter for the BBC, but had also worked in commercial radio, as a voiceover artist and event host.
She attended Leeds Beckett University where she studied Acting.
On her own website, she wrote: “I can present a live radio show, pre record one and MP3 the edited links to you, host an awards ceremony or special event, direct you around the world on your sat nav and guide your clients around your phone system.
“With my home studio and editing system I can voice and edit almost anything you need and very quickly too. Just let me know!

She has worked for many radio stations, including The Pulse, Century, Metro and Magic.
Vicki was currently presenting the 3pm to 7pm slot on BBC Radio Shropshire with cohost Adam Green.
They had been presenting together for the past eight years.
Adam posted a message on Twitter: “I am sad and numb. Vicki was a lovely human being with a big heart.
“She was kind, generous, creative, warm and friendly to all she met.
“In the 8 years I have worked with her there wasn’t a day when we didn’t laugh out loud.
“My thoughts are with her beautiful children and family.”
Not much is known about her private life, as she kept it lowkey.
However, she was married and had kids who where through to be on holiday at the time of her death.
Photos on her Twitter reveal she appears to have three children, two daughters and one son.
She wrote on Twitter on Monday: “HELP PLEASE Children are away for 5 days on holiday. #homealone Suggestions?”
